August is a month that should open the door to the future-BREAKTHROUGH!

August is a hinge month that will see old spiritual pathways closed, and new spiritual routes opened to the saints for the future. Imagine a door on a hinge, it can be shut or kept open. It will take decision making to determine whether a door shuts or opens unless an act of God such as 'wind' takes over. August is a month that should open the door to the future-BREAKTHROUGH! We are in a year of open doors, and the angels of the Lord have been despatched to open new doors of breakthrough to us. However, your cooperation is needed to shut the doors to past hurts, disappointments, failures, defeat and even successes that hinder new experiences.

August is a CROSSOVER month so old bridges that may not be able to carry the weight of God's coming glory will collapse. But we are not to fear because God has been at work all the while, opening tunnels that will transport His glory further. These are the days of 'global glory communities', and not our usual clique of familiar friends. Bridges are simply not enough to convey what is ahead of the body of Christ. We need to pray for minimum loss and casualties as the world enters another phase of shakings that the word 'shift' cannot adequately articulate. We may need seismologists to interpret some earth disturbances in the near future, yet Jesus says; "See, that you are not troubled" (Matt 24:6).

Repentance is the key to unlock the future. Heaven flooded some nations with tears in the month of July in particular after quick chastening in June in my discernment. The purpose was the cleansing of lands in readiness for a new move of God's Spirit. Tears of repentance will lead nations such as Britain and India into times of refreshing as we pray. Hence the enemy is contending for the future by recycling past challenges and experiences. As we pray for farmers affected by the fresh outbreak of foot and mouth disease in England, we need to contend with Nahum 1:9 which says; "affliction will not rise up a second time".

Two prophetic declarations I believe we can't afford to forget in this season are "It is written", then "Affliction will not rise up a second time" (Nahum 1:9). Slap down 'ghosts' from dead situations with the Word of God, and don't give them room to re-enter your life. Foot and Mouth disease to me represents a repeated pattern of humiliation from the past, an indication of the fact that the enemy is contending the future of a land. It is an Assyrian-type assault on a nation that must come out of labour (see prophetic insight titled "Affliction will not rise up a second time" & "Britain is coming out of Labour" on the prophecy page @ www.womenarisepray.org).

Encourage yourself in the Word of God as you expect breakthrough and manifestation of covenant promises in this season. Keep living!

August 2007 Is A Hinge Month

Jude who regarded himself as a "Bondservant of Jesus Christ" wrote in Jude 3 saying; "I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly with the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints."

When we become slaves to the righteousness of God through Christ it becomes easier to fight off the weapon of 'hopelessness' with which the enemy attacks the saints at strategic times. Romans 6:16 teaches; "Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one's slave whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?"

Time Of Completion

If you note from the scripture above obedience leads to righteousness. Of our patriarchal father Abraham, the Bible honours him as a man who "believed God" and it was accounted to him for "righteousness" (Roms 4:9). In other words, faith in God balances out your heavenly accounts in God's accounting year that is different from that of Inland Revenue or any other Tax Office on the earth.

One must then imply that disobedience leads to sin, and also creates a minus or debit in a believer's heavenly account in a time of accounting or reckoning as in 2007. Faith in God earns you the reward of righteousness but bear in mind that faith must be accompanied by works (James 2:7). You need to demonstrate 'faith' by being resolute about your future that is totally in God's hands and view.

If the Spirit of the Lord is speaking "repentance, restoration and refreshing" to the church and the devil is speaking "hopelessness, despair, loss, disadvantage, betrayal"; who shall we then believe? (Is 53:1)

The future is worth contending for and is exactly the reason the enemy is contending so much during the month of August, and if not challenged, will keep you embattled. You need to speak back to negativity; "Thus far and no more"! You need to set boundaries for the enemy with the blood of Jesus. The devil cannot cross the eternal bloodline.

New Beginnings

The future is right before you if God is to be believed (and He is to be believed see Numbers 23:19, Roms 3:3). His plan is to give you, "a future and a hope" (Jer 29:11 NKJV). One Bible translation says "To give you an expected end." You are to war against the "One step forwards, two steps backwards" syndrome of the enemy. God has times within His timeline when time is calculated or worked out on behalf of His people (see Gal 4:4). Our journey in God leads us to many 'promised lands' and not just one "Canaan" experience (Ps 102:13).

Here, 'promised land' symbolises the fruition, manifestation or crystallising of the 'hope' you have carried in your heart to see what God promised you come to pass. As a child of God, you are also His burden bearer (see Eze 22:30, Is 59:16). A time comes in your experience when the weight of the burden you have carried for the Lord and how well you have borne such a burden is then accounted (calculated) in heaven by the Holy God. Your divine accounting records are not prepared on the earth by mere mortals, so you need not look to man for your reward (Heb 11:6). To observers on the earth or to people around, you may look like God has forgotten you but in heaven you are being saluted.

Apostle Paul said:

"But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ." (Phil 3:7-8).
