If you want an example of somebody who does it the right way, maybe a celebrity life where you won't read about someone who cheats on their wives and abandons their kids. You want to read about a father and a love story and somebody who tries to do the right thing, it's a great book.

If you want to understand how this little six foot three kid from this small school in North Carolina has become such a superstar, this is the book that will explain it.

I think for many readers, it answers a lot of questions. Hopefully, I wrote it well enough so that it entertains you. Mostly, as I wrote it, I remember being inspired. Like, "You know, this is a good story."

For me it's like, "That's just Steph," but when you step back, it's like, I want my daughter to know this story. I want my daughter to see, here's a guy who said "I believe in myself so much I'm going to defy all the odds" and I want to be able to give it to her and tell her "You can do the exact same thing. You can believe in yourself when nobody believes in you and look what he accomplished." That's what I was thinking while I was writing, "Let me inspire my daughter."

I gave it to her, she's on page 31 and it's been six months. I don't think she's really interested, but she's only 10. Maybe it's too early.

Emily: If anybody wants to get hold of a copy of the book, how can they do so?

Marcus: You can go to anywhere that sells books, Amazon, Kindle; it's available on audio books. Our website is RiseofStephCurry.com, you can go there and if you just happen to be in Oakland, California, I've got some in my trunk and you can buy it from me. But those are more expensive than normal books, those are $99.99. CR
