Suzie Brock reflects on what it means to have accepted Jesus into your heart

The night I first met Jesus at the age of 15 (almost), the speaker explained to me that we all had a 'hole' in our hearts that could only be filled by Jesus. I got that right away; I felt that hole. Nothing else seemed to fit in it and the moment I prayed the prayer to accept Christ that so called hole felt filled.

Simplistic I know and not very theologically sound, but there you have it, a real and true experience for me. Something changed that evening, an emptiness that had been in my life no longer felt empty. I was still a needy person; my problems did not disappear, but I just knew that I knew something had been filled and that that substance would change me forever....and it did.

In Colossians it says that the secret is 'Christ in me' filling that hole and that I'm assured to share in His glory. His glory in a nutshell, (as if it could be put in a nutshell), is all that He is and will ever be. In that moment of acceptance, all of Jesus came in and filled all of me.

My weaknesses' have been replaced by His strength. Attacks against me are now met with the the greatness of God living in me. He now turns all things to good because I am called according to His purposes, because I am His and He is mine. Help beyond human ability, wholeness beyond measure, ever being continually filled and completed.

The holes and lacking places in my life, heart, brain, physical body, are no longer left hallow and wanting. My 'swiss cheese' heart has been made complete. He completes ALL who call on Him, ALL who invite Him in and give Him permission to fill that special space in their heart and life!

'This mystery has been kept in the dark for a long time, but now it's out in the open. God wanted everyone, not just Jews, to know this rich and glorious secret inside and out, regardless of their background, regardless of their religious standing. The mystery in a nutshell is just this: Christ is in you, so therefore you can look forward to sharing in God's glory. It's that simple. That is the substance of our Message. We preach Christ, warning people not to add to the Message. We teach in a spirit of profound common sense so that we can bring each person to maturity. To be mature is to be basic. Christ! No more, no less. That's what I'm working so hard at day after day, year after year, doing my best with the energy God so generously gives me.' Colossians 1:26-29 MSG

'Each time he said, "My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness." So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.' 2 Corinthians 12:9 NLT

'And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.' Romans 8:28 NLT

'"Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.' Revelation 3:20 NLT
