As Christmas approaches, it is a time of year to be grateful. Grateful for family and for friends, grateful for the many blessings in our daily life and most of all grateful to God for the gift of His Son Jesus.

When I was growing up as a child, I remember seeing scenes of baby Jesus being born in a manger through various ways, such as through the media, or through the local school nativity. While I was glad for the nativity, an interesting perspective developed; I related and referenced Jesus according to the Luke 2:1-19 story of Jesus as being a baby in a manger, instead of who Jesus is today: the risen, resurrected and ascended King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Over these past few weeks as I prepared for Christmas services at our local church and the wider community, I wondered how many people ONLY have the baby Jesus as a reference point. In other words, they relate to what Jesus was at His birth, instead of what He is today.

Thankfully Jesus is no longer the baby in the manger. He is the God of breakthrough. Jesus broke into our time and world and overcome suffering, pain, sin and death, by conquering the grave and rising again. Now He is seated at the right hand of God (Romans 8:34) interceding for your breakthrough & mine!

Is your perspective of Jesus as a baby in a manger, or of the resurrected and risen Lord?

Looking back at 2015, this year began with the intentional naming of the year 'Breakthrough' and what a year of breakthrough it has been!

Let me take this opportunity to share with you one of the most significant breakthroughs I have ever witnessed. Simply click on this video link and see what God has done. It's only a few minutes long.

My reasons for sharing this are threefold. Firstly to spread the great news of what God can do. Secondly, to inspire us to see more and greater breakthroughs in the future. Thirdly, to bring glory to God.

Wow what a miracle! To be able to have obtained this land in such an incredible way is a testimony of how God works.

This Christmas season, may you discover that Jesus, although born as that baby in an ordinary manger, has grown up and ascended up. He is ready to be the God of breakthrough in whatever area of life that you need Him to be. He is the gift of eternal life and hope to all.

Do you need a breakthrough? A healing? A financial miracle? Help with raising children? Restoration in relationships? Whatever your need is, I pray that you would understand that Jesus is interceding for your breakthrough even now!

Finally, may you enjoy this Christmas season. May you be strengthened and encouraged for greater things ahead.

With much love this Christmas. CR
