"When it comes to spiritual maturity, those who want to grow make a conscious effort to remain focussed on knowing and loving Jesus. As you progress in your spiritual life you get to a place where it's not about hearing the next tantalizing, trendy teaching."
Don't focus your life on saying "I want another new revelation from God". You will reach a place where you will have just about heard it all. That's how heresy enters the church. People will think up all sorts just to keep you on the edge of your seat.
Out of all the revelations I have received, all the wonderful things I have witnessed and experienced, the thing that needs to dazzle me the most is simply Jesus. That is probably one of the greatest signs of maturity in your life.
Not running around...have you seen this, have you read this, have you checked out this church..but the thing that will keep you going and growing is if you are absolutely in love with Jesus.
He is more than enough. The more you know Him the more you want to know Him. I encourage you into that. All your life go for Jesus. Let Him excite you, let Him draw you."
I love the way Galatians 6:14-16 puts it, "May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world"
2. Turning to meaningless talk (1 Timothy 1:6)
When Paul mentions meaningless talk in this verse he uses a greek word Mataiologia which means Fruitless discussion. So ask yourself this question. What fruit is produced in the lives of others when I talk with them?
So how do you prevent turning to meaningless talk?
- Focus on practically showing God's love
1 Peter 2:15 says "For it is God's will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish men."
Sometimes you've just got to keep quiet and let your actions do the talking.
- Chat less!
Proverbs 10:19 says ¨When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise.¨

take your focus off of yourselves. christ died for you 2000 years ago. he knew you, and your sins before you were even born. and he still paid for them. they're paid for in full. the more you focus on your sins and continual failings, the more you'll continue to sin and fail. the focus is on you, not on what was accomplished on the cross. EVERYTHING was paid for already. your sins have been forgiven, just accept the free gift. take it, God is offering it to you. IT IS FINISHED. the only way someone will ever be set free from the "law of sin and death" is to focus on Christ more and less upon himself. "rightly divide" the word of truth (kjv). read romans through philemon for the grace doctrines that were meant for us today, in this age of grace. if you live under the law, you will be judged by the law. Christ walked the walk according to the law, perfectly, in our place, because he knew we couldn't do it. ever. the law was given as a schoolmaster, to point out our sins, and to point us to the Savior, who did it all for us. that's why when we accept his forgiveness, he takes our sins upon himself, and gives us HIS righteousness in their place.
