The 23-year-old deejay from Auckland in New Zealand DJ SPAIN

DJ Spain is 23-year-old Paul Spain who worships at an Assemblies of God congregation. After being saved, he has worked for the last two years as a leader of the Dance Generation club ministry and together with his DJ partners, Dr Siminz, MC Mess and Helix run the successful N Dorphin club nights which attract an attendance of about 400 people. The music played at the club ranges from techno, trance to happy hardcore mixed up with suitable video footage, lighting and preaching over the beats. The concept has been taken on the road to New Zealand's CCM festivals with appearances last year at the Parachute festival and the YFC summer camp, where audiences of over 1,000 caught the N Dorphin vibe.

When asked what is needed for Christian dance music DJ Spain says that, "Although the house stuff coming out is fine, there is a need for much more Christian orientated techno." What is the scene like in New Zealand? "It's lively. We |propose to take the N Dorphin concept nationwide in 1997." Another priority is to organise the return of the Dance Generation mixshow to radio, where it ran for 18 months in 1995 and 1996.

A final word from Paul: "We are children of a most high God. God loves this generation who will dance like David danced. We are a dance generation who move our feet to the beat of God's heart. Hallelujah!"
