Scottish singer/songwriter Scott Nicol spoke to Tony Cummings.

Tony: I know you sing with the band Maybe I'm Dreaming but I understand you have quite a musical history. Give us a potted biography.

Scott: I have had the priviledge of leading praise and worship for years, writing some worship songs and being involved in local praise recording projects, but over the past few years I've been in the rock band Maybe I'm Dreaming and I have put out two solo CDs (with full band) and am finding things opening up at different levels.

Tony: You've had some success haven't you in recent times as a singer/songwriter.

Scott: I am probably as busy as I have been in my life just now musically. In praise and worship, with MID and as a soloist. Just recently a Texas music publishing company gave me five contracts for my songs.

Tony: What's your favourite song on your new recording and why?

Scott: My favourite song on the album is probably "Openness And Love". I think it is possibly the best recorded song with its balance and overall sound. All our songs were recorded live with only one overdub. Our sound engineer Allister Dickson did a marvellous job. I also like the chorous "Let Love Be Your Aim" straight from the Bible, 1 Cor 14.

Tony: Is Maybe I'm Dreaming still going?

Scott: Maybe I'm Dreaming is alive and very well, we are involved in playing at the Alpha Course for youth at the moment, played at the SECC in Glasgow, played at Life 2 The Max in Manchester in September and have a new CD out 'Electric For You' so it's quite busy just now.

Tony: What would you like to achieve over the next year or two?

Scott: I would love to be full time in music. I want the healing of Jesus to flow through me to broken lives. Becoming full time either as a performer/praise and worship leader or as a songwriter as I would love other artists to record my songs. I would also love to travel more and have my praise and worship material sung by the wider church.
