Tony: So who is Stuart Menzies Farrant?

Stuart: I am a Christian and a singer/songwriter, I'm based in Bradford, West Yorkshire in the UK where I have my home recording studio. I've been making music for quite a few years now, I started out playing guitar with heavy metal bands, but things started to take a different route when I started to write and record my own material. It was around this time when my Christian faith became the driving force behind my creativity. Now I really had something to sing about. At present as well as promoting the CD, I'm involved in the worship team at my local church, New Horizons in Dewsbury (West Yorkshire). There may be a praise and worship album forthcoming from us this year...watch this space!

Tony: I've seldom heard an album with such a wide variety of styles. Are you a natural musical eclectic?

Stuart: Yes, I think I must be....I love any music that has heart and purpose. I tend to work on a song by song basis when writing, and I tend to view each song as complete in its own right. I think this gives rise to the variety of styles that I have on the CD.

Tony: Come on, hands up! What is your absolute favourite track on the album and why?

Stuart: Uhh..ok....It's always a bit like trying to name your favourite child, but I think my rocking-guitar bashing heritage pushes me towards "No Doubt". I'm a sucker for a good driving track!

Tony: Tell me a bit about the spiritual motivation behind the project.

Stuart: That's what it's all about for me, I've been in the desert of doubt, I've suffered many pains and problems, I've tried to hiding from God. After some of the worst days of my life, the hand of God has reached down deep into my spirit and lifted me and lifted me and lifted me and lifted me and lifted me until what I thought was the top is now beneath my feet! He has stirred my gift, he has released me into his purposes....hallelujah! Over the course of the 18 months of composing and recording, God has brought me from nowhere to somewhere, by showing me that he is with me in everything I do. He doesn't care what anyone thinks or says! He knows me....everything about me...and he accepts me...more importantly he knows me and speaks to me as a "finished product". God sees in all of us multitudes and miracles! CR
