"The people are lovely and we are brothers and sisters there - though really I'm not a church-goer, I wouldn't say. But I've got a prayer group, the band ourselves are like a small church and we've got another five or six people who give us a lot of prayer support, plus we've got about 50 people around the country who are supporting us in different ways.

"I do see a different church emerging, more like. Acts in the Bible, I'm hoping. A sort of Travellers' church really. I can foresee it - I think it would be closer to God if that happened."

Meanwhile, people continue to get 'hit by God'.

'There's a lad in London called Chris who lives in a squat, he's a pen-pal. Basically a policeman used to beat him up a lot. One day the policeman turned up in the squat and asked to see Chris and he was virtually signing his death warrant - he walked all the way up to Chris and said 'I'm sorry I used to beat you and will you forgive me, I've just become a Christian.' That started it off and Chris just got zapped.

"I think there's a lot more to it, he's writing a book about it. But he's really changed so much - he says in his letters how violent he used to be.

"All my best friends weren't Christians when I met them - they are now. I've been praying for them all the time - there's still a few best friends that haven't changed yet. Every one of my friends has a very good idea that God is real but I respect the fact that some of them don't want to be involved with it."

Finances permitting, Immortal Dead's unique sound may soon be coming to a town near you. If Jason and Kylie are your bag, don't go, you probably won't enjoy it. However if it's punk rhythmic noise you're after... CR
