Mississippi's Mosie Burks records solo debut at the age of 72.
IN AMERICA a gospel singer, Mosie Burks, has begun her solo recording
career at the age of 72. The album 'Mama Burks' is released on Malaco
Records. Mosie has sung for many years with the award-winning
Mississippi Mass Choir. Guests on the 'Mama Burks' album include one
time member of the Caravans, Dorothy Norwood and members of the
Mississippi Mass Choir.

Mosie, I show the video "America's Heart and Soul" to my students here in Long Beach each year. I have them write about which individual inspires them the most. You are one of my favorites! I sing "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot" right along with you. I stop the video and sing the second verse. Some of my students are shocked to hear me sing. What an inspiration! As you say, "Wow!"
