Nigerian composer Ben Okafor's Biafra war play is to open in July

AFRICAN composer and reggae artist Ben Ofakor has written a play about the Nigeria Biafra war based on his own experience as a 13 year-old. The play, Child Of Biafra, written in collaboration with Justin Butcher, opens in Manchester's Contact Theatre in July before touring nationwide. Ben is currently working towards the completion of his new album, 'Diverted Traffic'. He is also soon to take The Spirit Of The Act Tour to universities and colleges, which scrutinises the intent and achievement of the 1807 Abolition Of The Slave Trade Act.
