The Danielson Famile's Daniel Smith gets UK release through Rough Trade.

THE FIRST solo album by leader of America's critically acclaimed The Danielson Famile, Daniel Smith, has been released in the UK by Rough Trade Records. Under the moniker Br Danielson, the eccentric, acoustic-orientated project is called 'Brother Is To Son'. The 32 year old singer/songwriter told HM magazine how most members of his family group have contributed to the project. "Everybody's playing on the record, and then some, probably more than even on the Famile records. But again, compared to the recent Famile album and the albums to come, there's a single voice, so to speak, on this album and it's a single identity. So, conceptually and practically that's why I felt like this album had to be.you know, it's the sixth Danielson record, but it's the debut of the Brother Danielson. But it's not really even a debut, because every record has contained the spirit and the songwriting process, there's just something new that's going on." CR
