THE popular Cheltenham band Eden Burning, whose roots/indie rock sound has a large Christian following, will have their first single released into the mainstream market. Total/BMG are to distribute the single 'You Could Be The Meadow' on FFG Records. The newly recorded song, actually written five years ago by the band's lead singer Paul Northup, is not specifically Christian in its lyrical theme. Northup told Cross Rhythms, "We hope to gain interest and intrigue rather than setting out our stall with the very first song the general public hears." Other tracks on the recording are "The Brontes, Alice And Me" another newly recorded studio number and two live recordings made in mid-June at the Orange. Release of 'You Could Be The Meadow' will be between 5th and 12th of September.
