Negative reaction causes redesign of cover sleeve

AMERICAN CCM artist Eric Champion has had the sleeve for his new album for Essential/Brentwood Music redesigned. Negative reaction to the initial design shown at Nashville's Christian Bookseller's Convention for the Transformation' album forced the redesign. Said Robert Beeson, director of Essential, "The series of photos that we have been working with for all of Eric's packaging and promotion included a toy laser gun. Our intent was to build up Eric's very animated personality to create an unusual, space-age type of character... Unfortunately, having a gun of any sort on an album cover proved to be too controversial for the Christian market to support."
