Seattle's The Classic Crime chart with fan-financed album

SEATTLE-based rockers The Classic Crime are currently charting in the US with their latest album 'Phoenix'. The fan-financed and self-released album came through what has been announced as the ninth most funded music project in Kickstarter history. 'Phoenix' has reached number 130 on Billboard's Top 200 mainstream album chart while on the iTunes rock album chart it peaked at number three. Said The Classic Crime's frontman Matt MacDonald, "'Phoenix' is our rebirth. Conceptually, it's about the time spent in the ashes, between death and this new life, wondering if we'd ever get out. The whole process has restored our hope in the value of what we do. Our Kickstarter backers have revived our confidence in the fact that we are not alone and there is still work to be done." CR
