Old school funk is just one influence on the new TobyMac album

ONE OF the founders of dc Talk, TobyMac, spoke about his new album 'Welcome To Diverse City', released in November. He said, "The major difference between this record and 'Momentum' is that I know what's working for me live and I could write songs based around that. I wanted an old school, timeless feel of the classic funk songs this time around, and I wrote songs that feel like that era. There's a little Gap Band influence, a bit of Parliament injected in there. It's been so fun and such a blessing to be able to do what you want to do creatively." CR
