Crossfire to be renamed Cross Rhythms

AFTER three years of serious financial struggle, the Liverpudlian festival, Crossfire (to be renamed Cross Rhythms NW) have managed to construct a rescue package which should resolve their indebtedness to creditors of just under £20,000. This rescue package, however, has not come soon enough to rescue Cross Rhythms NW '95 which will not now take place.
Cross Rhythms have put together a consortium of partners, including major Christian record companies, who will assist in paying off Crossfire's existing liabilities. Chris Cole, Cross Rhythms chief executive, said, "We're not out of the woods yet. All of the existing creditors are being asked to accept the terms of the rescue plan, but if they do agree to the scheme then it will eventually mean that Crossfire's debts will be totally written off by the end of November 1995. We can then start planning for a new festival in 1996. I would have liked to have put something on for this year - and many artists have volunteered to play at the event for expenses only - but it would have been too stressful for an already overstretched, but willing workforce to go ahead with Cross Rhythms NW '95. CR
