Mass choir formed of 70 choir directors to make German gospel recording

IN A UNIQUE move, initiated by Germany's Creative Church, over 70 choir directors from across Germany have formed a mass choir, the German Gospel Choir, for a recording project. Two songs from each of six choir directors and gospel artists best known in Germany have been selected for the CD. The initiative indicates the fast growing popularity of the gospel choir genre in Germany. Said Manchester-based Tyndale Thomas, one of the choir directors and composers featured on the German Gospel Choir project, "I have been working in Germany for over 12 years with my brother David Thomas and it still surprises me to know that "This Train", a song I wrote 20 years ago, and "Light A Candle", a song I wrote whilst I was travelling in Germany feeling a little homesick, are amongst the most used and sung songs in Germany. It is a humbling and emotional experience that I give thanks for everyday."
