Scotland's Superhero win Independent Music Award

GLASGOW-based Superhero have been announced as winners of the Contemporary Christian/Gospel section of the prestigious Independent Music Awards (the IMAs), for their album 'Things We Need For The Journey'. The other acts nominated for the category were Canopy Red, Derrick Drover, Maggie Ingram & The Ingramettes and Matt Brouwer. The IMAs provide winners with performance, promotion and distribution opportunities that will place them in front of music supervisors, talent buyers and record label executives. Said Martin Folkman, Executive Director of The Independent Music Awards, "Whether they are established artists like Killer Mike and Band Of Skulls, or rising artists like Air Traffic Controller, The Congregation, Gungor or Mama Rosin, there's no question that independent artists excel at creating original music that takes risks and wins over new fans." CR
