The life and times of the late Keith Green to be celebrated in new film

A FEATURE film on the life of the late Jesus music pioneer Keith Green is in development. The film will be based on the life and ministry of the late singer, songwriter and pianist as documented in the book No Compromise by Keith's widow, Melody Green. Read a statement from Melody, "What is most needed RIGHT NOW is PRAYER. Shortly after the plane crash, I knew someday there would be a movie about Keith. I've waited for over 25 years for the Lord's timing - for God to bring producers with the right hearts, the vision and expertise to take Keith's story to the big screen. I always had a specific vision for the movie. . . just as I did when I wrote Keith's story in No Compromise. I want people to join Keith in his searching years and then track with us together on our journey to faith. It must be authentic - and connect to both the heart and the spirit." CR

My college years 1977-1983 was immersed with Keith Green songs. I found myself worshipping the Lord in my car and his songs held me through some of the toughest times in my young college life. His music holds the same worshipful attitude for me today. I find this very amazing. His music is an inspiration EVERY TIME I listen to it (mainly in my car while driving alone.) I truly sing with my heart and worship the Lord. "Oh Lord, you're beautiful..."

I first heard Keith's music in 1982, when I was entering into high school, just weeks before the plane crash. After Keith's death, I immersed myself into all his current albums/tapes (so much that I could still sing them from memory) and this caused in me a greater challenge to live more deeply for Christ. My teen years became filled with listening to nothing but Christian music, and I witnessed the hardest for the Lord at that time. I think God caused Keith's music to be so influencial to my teen years so I would keep out of trouble that so many kids get into. After reading the book "No Compromise" by Melody Green in 1989, I just knew someday a movie on the life of Keith would come about. I'm very happy to see that in the works, and I'll pray so much that it will touch young lives (as his story did mine in those years) and older lives as well. It will be refreshing for me to see Keith Green once again, his great music and testimony about the awesome God we serve touching lives, out in the public eye as a fresh, new, rushing wind, "blowing out the dust within..." - God bless you all!
- Your friend in Christ,
Mike
