Ray Repp loses eight year legal battle

ONE OF the early figures in America's Jesus Music singer/songwriter Ray Repp failed in an eight-year legal battle against millionaire composer Andrew Lloyd Webber. Repp sued Webber for copyright infringement claiming that certain passages from "Phantom" -from the multi-million pound earning Phantom Of The Opera - were stolen from his song "Till You". A court in New York cleared Lloyd Webber in December. Ray Repp, an important figure in the Catholic Renewal movement of the '60s and '70s, now works as a clothing salesman in Baltimore. CR
