Rich Mullins song tied into new edition of Room Of Marvels novel
AMERICAN book company B&H Publishing Group will offer 750 free
downloads of a rare Rich
Mullins live recording, "Madeline's Song," in connection with the
new edition of the acclaimed novel, Room Of Marvels. Mullins wrote the
song about Madeline Smith, the severely handicapped daughter of his
close friend, author James Bryan Smith. Soon after, Rich died in an
automobile accident on 19th September 1997. Madeline passed away in
March 1998 at age two. James Bryan Smith, who had also recently
suffered the loss of his mother, dealt with the overwhelming grief by
writing Room Of Marvels. Based on his own experience, the novel tells
the story of a loss-stricken author who regains his faith following a
vivid dream about Heaven. In the dream, the writer reunites with three
people he has mourned (based directly on Mullins, Madeline and Smith's
mother), gaining deep wisdom about the here and now as well as the
hereafter. The 2007 edition of the book includes a new epilogue by
Smith. The Mullins track is available for free download from 18th
September - look for the "Madeline's Song" link at

I just purchased you book, Room of Marvels, and was so touched. I, too, have lost people in a very short amount of time, and the healing process is very hard and tortuous at times. But, as followers of Christ, I have to say it is easier, but not easy. This book is one that puts feelings into words and feelings into color. (I knew that Wayne was Rich Mullins, due to the pain I had felt at his death as well). Like you, I miss my little ones that I lost within year. But, like you, God has been so amazingly gracious to show me things that let me know, He knows my pain and anger. What a great God we have, an amazing God. Christ's birth, death and resurrection was another in a long string of miracles, wasn't it? Thank you again for being faithful and writing this book!
