Goodbye Earthsuit, hello Mute Math.

A NEW American band, Mute Math, have risen out of the ashes of the now defunct Earthsuit. Singer/pianist Paul Meany and drummer Darren King have teamed up with guitarist Greg Hill to create the new band. An EP 'Rest' has been released on Teleprompt. Meany calls 'Rest' a derivative of the Earthsuit sound minus the rap elements. He said, "It falls into the pop/rock category and we've incorporated a lot of electronic elements." He also credits the music of the '70s/'80s pop outfit The Police, from which rocker/writer Sting emerged, as well as Icelandic sensation Bjork with providing plenty of influence for the new EP. CR
