Marie Brennan and Joanne Hogg collaborate on new hymns album

A NEW ALBUM, 'New Irish Hymns', released through Kingsway, brings together Clannad's Maire Brennan, lona's Joanne Hogg and American CCM star Margaret Becker. The album was written by Irish composer and conductor Keith Getty and features "new hymns with a Celtic influence." The album was recorded at Maire's home outside Dublin and also features appearances from players from Riverdance, the Prague Symphony Orchestra and lona, whose Troy Donockley lends his pipe skills. Joanne and Margaret had sung together before on a trip to Donegal, while Maire has featured on lona albums in the past. The album is slated for an October release in Europe, followed by a US release to be announced.
