Eli "Paperboy" Reed bigs up New York's Gospel For Teens work

New York Teens

IN THE current issue of B&S magazine, blue-eyed soul singer Eli "Paperboy" Reed spoke about his work with Gospel For Teens, who since 2006 have been providing free gospel music training in the greater New York City area for youth between the ages of 13 and 19. He said, "It was really incredibly cathartic for me to do. I'm still working with a lot of the young men I met through Gospel For Teens and we're going to put out an album of theirs in the fall. It was a tough point for me so working with them definitely inspired the 'My Way Home' album. I love to teach, I love gospel music, everything about the programme is so fabulous. . .everything they do is great. I would say it definitely helped me get back on my feet. These kids were so committed they came from very far away, they would come from all over [New York] in order to sing and learn about this music so it was not lost on me how much time and effort they put in to get there." In 2015, Vy Higginsen's Gospel For Teens released an album, 'The Best Of Gospel For Teens'. CR
