Novelist Christine Schaub to research the life of hymnwriter George Matheson

BEST SELLING American author Christine Schaub is coming to Scotland to research her new book. Schaub, who has already two books in the big selling Music Of The Heart series, will be researching the life of George Matheson and his hymn "O Love That Wilt Not Let Me Go". This is the novelist's second research trip to the UK. In spring 2005 Schaub travelled to London and Chatham, Kent, to gather information about John Newton for her book The Longing Season, the story of John Newton and his hymn "Amazing Grace". A feature film depicting the same story will be released worldwide in February 2007. Schaub will spend the bulk of her time in Glasgow at the university library but will make stops at Edinburgh's Royal Museum, Leeds' Thackray Medical Museum and the seaside town of Innellan, where Matheson wrote his iconic hymn in 1882. CR
