New Awards to encourage lesser known Christian artists

A GOSPEL and Christian music awards event, now in its seventh year, is set to take place in London on 31st October. Praisetek Gospel Music Awards (PGMA) 2015 will be held at Rowans Function Suites, Finsbury Park, north London. Read a PGMA statement, "Quite a number of gospel artists have been in the industry for many years and are being discouraged one way or the other either by not receiving recognition in the industry or by low album sales. By giving them an award we hope to make them more visible." Among the artists nominated are Sophy Yah, Emem Archibong, Desola, Ayo Tikare, Amazin' Ijeoma, Alexander Joseph, Peter118, Uty Pius, Shoggy Tosh and Tino. CR
