London MC Jahaziel wins MOBO Award

LONDON-based rapper Jahaziel picked up a prestigious MOBO Award for Best Gospel Act on 15th October. Carrie and David Grant presented Jahaziel, whose 2007 album 'Ready To Live' has received considerable critical acclaim, with the award in London. Jahaziel is now working on a new album, due for release next year, and was recently featured on projects for Christian Aid and the government anti-gun and knives campaign It Doesn't Have To Happen. The other MOBO nominees were Britain's Ekklesia and USA's Tye Tribbett and Kirk Franklin.

Another Christian winner of a MOBO was saxophonist Yolanda Brown, who won the Best Jazz award while Asa was nominated for a Best African Act award. CR

This is a well deserved award. Your album has been a real blessing to both mine and my friends lives.
Keep doing what you do.
