Robert E Person covers Donny Hathaway on new album

R&B GOSPEL singer Robert E Person includes a cover of a Donny Hathaway classic on his new album 'Soul Sanctuary'. Person, who has sung behind George Benson, Karen Clark Sheard and Kelly Price, features the Hathaway song "Some Day We'll All Be Free" on his independent album. Said Robert, "It's been one of my favourite songs and Donny has been one of my favorite singers for years. It has a wonderful message and has been covered by many sacred and secular artists. Although my rendition was arranged by Allyn Johnson, we stayed true to the classic nature of the original. The orchestration is a little bit jazzier, but we made sure to keep the sentiment and the true integrity of the song. I think so many people can relate to the song because we all have something we want to be free from." CR
