Shira Small, Marj Snyder and Becky Severson featured on new compilation album

IN A SURPISE move, a mainstream record company has reissued tracks from the earliest and obscurest days of Christian music. Numero Group have released the compilation 'Wayfaring Strangers: Ladies From The Canyon'. It includes self-financed 'custom' recordings by Becky Severson, a teenager back in the '70s with a song "A Special Path" inspired by the book of Jeremiah; Marj Snyder and Shira Small a Harlem teenager who cut the jazz gospel song "Eternal Life" whilst attending a Quaker boarding school in rural Pennsylvania. The project also contains tracks by secular artists

It's great to hear that some of Marj Snyder's original recordings have been remastered as part of compilation albums. Her simple accoustic music still ministers to people 30 years later and I'm sure will go through the fire of God with flying colors. What I want to hear is any new material that she may have written or recorded in the intervening years. Hopefully, if her remasters do well this might be possible in a way that is right for her and her family today. I'll certainly buy a copy. Sincerely, Ty Flanagan

I've been trying to find the Marj Snyder song, "They will know we are Christians by our love," but the legal and proper download came with two Trojans attached, so it was deleted. I also wanted to thank her, if possible, as one of her soings helped me out of a coma, almost exactly a year ago. Thank you for your valuable time and may God bless you in all things.

Marj Snyder was the first "contemporary" Christian singer I heard when I first came to Christ back in 1973. Recently, I began working at a Christian radio station in Houston and was so pleased to find three of Marj's albums still in the station's music library. It was like finding a long-lost, dear friend. Marj, I hope you are well and still singing to our Lord Jesus Christ. May His blessings richly fill your life as He used you to bless so many of us. I wish I could tell you personally how much your music meant to me.

I sang in a folk group with Marj Snyder when we were both in High School. We both went to Twin Lakes Baptist Church and were in the Youth Group together. My maiden name was Judy Kingham. If there's any way to say "Hi" to Marj, I would love for you to do it for me. Thanks lots!
