Blues, folk and gospel on new Ruthie Foster album

A SINGER who combines blues, folk and gospel, Ruthie Foster has a mainstream release 'The Phenomenal Ruthie Foster' issued in the UK by Proper Records. The singer's album includes the self-penned gospel song "Mama Said", a near acapella version of the Son House gospel blues "People Grinnin' In Your Face" and a revival of the old Sister Rosetta Tharpe song "Up Above My Head (I Hear Music In The Air)". CR
