Chichester-based rock band Sabio carry on despite split announcement at Cross Rhythms Festival in Devon.
DESPITE an earlier announcement that their appearance at Devon's Cross
Rhythms Festival in July was to be their final concert,
Chichester-based pop rock band Sabio have decided to continue, though
with a new name and working exclusively in the mainstream. Now to be
called Oversoul and with a new drummer Nathan Evans (previously with
the band Steve) the group are now planning some mainstream
showcases.
The group, fronted by singer Aaron Frith, have a
complex history. Originally called Fruit, they gained considerable
popularity on the Christian circuit before signing with secular
management and being renamed Sabio. However, the group failed to land
a mainstream recording contract and after dumping their management
released the critically acclaimed independent album 'Escape' in 2002. ![]()
