I was so impressed with Dweeb on BBC3 last night.

Christianity at its finest, they demonstrated Christ's agape love for the whole nation to see.

Rarely have I been so proud to watch my God represented on UK television

You really rock guys - God bless you

i quite agree with you. Last nights programme was riveting and inspirational. It was amazing to watch god in action and to watch the transformation in Suzanne. Her comment about how on hearing the bible passage showed her the light and how she "fell in love". I left the programme feeling so in awe of God and wanting everyone to watch it. But i guess the viewing was limited as not being directly targetted as such a life changing possibility. i would love the programme to be seen by all Christians as a testomy to God in action. But how wonderful that the majority of viewers hopefully were younger and new to Christianity. I pray that Mikkey too will come to open her heart and mind to the possibilty of loving God.

I thought dweeb were absolutley amazing and just goes to show that being christians doesn't mean that you're a set of bible bashers! I hope they perservere and keep up the good work!

Dweeb's music sounded as awful as the porn band they were thrown together with. This is one of the problems with 'Christian' music; it can end up sounding very similar to the satanic stuff which is of 'the world'. Also, although Dweeb could turn away from the porn band when they stripped, we, the viewers (whom they presumably wanted to watch the programme) had to sit through the whole thing. So there was some compromising of principles. All this being said, I thought the boys in the band did show the love of Christ in the situation and came across well.

I think you might miss the point of what [DWEEB] is all about. As you have impressive musical qualifications, I have to respect your opinion of [DWEEB] music. It may not be to your taste, but having witnessed [DWEEB] in action at H3 this weekend I have to respond.
Firstly, [DWEEB] live is about communicating with predominantly young people (although they have very wide appeal) through their music initially but then using that avenue to bring the message of Life Eternal through a belief in Jesus. This they do consistently well.
Secondly, I disagree that their music is the same as all (secular?) rock. How can it be when it is inspired by a love for and belief in God.
Thirdly, they are a thoroughly professional outfit and I am mystified (with your professional qualifications) why you fail to be able to acknowledge this. You might not LIKE their music - but does this preclude you from accepting that the music they do is done very, very well?
Forthly, why not come to H3 in Milton Keynes in 2009 ( you have just missed 2008)? You could see [DWEEB] if you wish - but if not, sit them out and see any of the other performers representing all genres of music. That's what a lot of the young folk do - they come to see [DWEEB] and at the same time are exposed to other Christian inspired performers and hence musically educated. Surely you would welcome this as an exponent of "music"....whatever form that may take?
Don't wish to sound argumentative - but really want to support these guys as I have seen first hand what an amazing ministry they have.
God Bless Chris!

WOW how gd was that best thing i have seen on tv for ages!!!

Fantastic witness lads.
The love you showed was Amazing, just like the grace we all receive.
You took the risk of putting your lives and reputations on the line and we all were blessed; just like another group of folk two millenium ago.
May the Lord be with you. that's my prayer.

I disagree with Chris Lazenby (BA Cert HE Dip Mus)'s comments. It is not fair to blame on dweeb the bad decision of the producers to show the strippers. If they or Risen Records had any say that scene would have been cut out in an instant. As to the band's music being satanic or "of the world", I think if you meet them and attend their gig's I guarantee you'll think otherwise. They are some of the most humble and godly men in the ministry that i know.

I think Dweeb did us all proud last weekend...rock on.

In reply to Chris Lazenby BA "Also, although Dweeb could turn away from the porn band when they stripped, we, the viewers (whom they presumably wanted to watch the programme) had to sit through the whole thing"
I think that was probably the purpose of the program and not to show all sides would have been flawed. Nice to see all members of both groups gained something from the experience
With regards to the "the satanic stuff" it can only portray this via the words spoken in the song, nice to see the young lads tackling this musical genre and putting an alternative side

Started watching the programme with my 13 year old son who's a dweeb fan at first shocked by the sheer courage of DWEEB half expecting to be gutted in case they did a Gareth (as in Gates) So we filtered out by changing channel for the innapropriate stuff at the begginning and saw it coming in the gig in the pub.. But wow I was so impressed by the band !!! Fantastic appologetics, even better witness I was humbled and I've been an Evangelist for 16 years.

But most of all I loved to see christians being salt and light among the sinners.. Well done guys keep living the dream...

My wife and I were sooo impressed with Dweeb's witness during this programme - keep up the good work! It was a shame there was so many unsavoury images at the beginning (my wife acted as censor on my behalf!!!) - otherwise I would suggest that all young Christians watch this great example of being lights to the world.

With reference to the music, there were distinct differences between what Paparazzi Whore produced and what Dweeb played (Dweeb's quality was much higer to start with). Also, people at the gigs were very clear that there was a different "atmosphere". It would be a shame to criticise Dweeb's musical style as this was their main bridge with the other band, who obviously respected them for their abilities.

My question to Chris would be, if you didn't want to compromise you principles, why didn't you turn away. Dweeb didn't edit that TV programme, BBC3 did. You have control of your TV remote, if you don't want to see something, look away or turn over. But don't blame Dweeb.

I can't help wondering why Chris Lazenby felt he had to "sit through the whole thing". If Dweeb could persuade themselves to leave the room I'm sure Chris could have closed his eyes for a few seconds, or nipped out to put the kettle on.

mr lazenby ,i dont care about the ba in music ,you are so wrong.i am a christian ,i am in my late forties with a teen goth daughter my fave bands are creed ,seether etc and most christian rock is naff to say the least.dweeb were fabulous on singing with the enemy not only their faith ,love and attitude but mostly the music.at last a british rock band that are actually good and just happen to have faith.as for the "dark" metal |"devil related nonsense which is pandered about by christians ,give it a break.ive been involved in metal related lifestyle and work for many years .none of us will ever be taken seriously by non christians if we continue in this vain.dweebs talent and musicality will sort that out and im sure the forthcomong album will go some way ..i look forward to it.

I too am in my forties, and I was seriously impressed by dweeb (both their behaviour and music) when I stumbled across the programme by accident on Tuesday night. I was also impressed by the impartiality of the BBC in showing not only the nudity scenes but the prayer scenes and soul-searching discussions with Suzanne as well. Thrilling and refreshing to see God's glory shining, keep it up guys, I'll be looking out for your music!

Dweeb were really inspiring on that BBC3 programme cos they opened my eyes to God and just made me think about my life in a way i'd never done before.I'm glad that they appeared in that show cos they brought me back to God and now i feel better about myself so thanx Dweeb God bless.

In reply to Chris L: surely what makes a band "satanical" or not is their lyrics, not their musical style? To suggest otherwise is the suggest that there are certain styles of music that are intrinsically "evil", whereas I recognise that ALL music styles (even the ones I hate personally) are a tool for Christ in the right hands, and a weapon for the devil in others. Dweeb shone like light and tasted like salt to Paparazzi Whore and to those watching: I personally love their music and fair play if you don't but to say it is comparable to "satanic" music just because of the style is ridiculous.

I also stumbled across this. Was absolutely brilliant tv. The lead singer of dweeb seemed so sure of everything he said. Its a fantastic way to be. he truky believes in his faith and that is amazing.. Also singer of the other band, oh dear. She seems very lost

top band

Posted by faye @ 22:40 on May 14 2008

I stumbled upon this lookin for dweeb's myspace to see how they're dong, I was the keyboard player of p whore during the show (I have left since, as has the drummer) and wanted to say dweeb were an amaazing band to live with :) I truly admired their musical abilities and though I'm atheist I was really impressed with their dedication and commitment to their cause. They showed respect to our beliefs as we did theirs (including the band's commitment to animal rights, it was cut out of the show but the lineup at the time was comprised of vegans/veggies, dweeb didn't eat meat infront of us the whole week, as we made the effort not to blaspheme). Despite the intention to cause tension that the producers made we all got along brilliantly and obviously they didnt show the many nights we all chilled together just chatting or cooking for each other, because it didn't make good tv. Don't think I've ever met such a lovely bunch of people since!

Regarding the statement below, firstly God created music, think of it as non Christian we a gift from God and have not learnt how to use it properly, Christians have just got a grip of who the gifts are from who they should use them for!!

The guys where living out the great commision being somewhere Christ would have been, you can keep your principles but they will just keep you in you closed mind bubble and do nothing to further the kingdom!! well done!!
