Jordin Sparks wins American Idol talent search

THE LATEST winner of the USA's American Idol TV talent search, Jordin Sparks is a Christian. The final was filmed at Kodak Theater in Los Angeles and a record 74 million votes were cast to determine Sparks as the winner over Blake Lewis. Sparks, a 17-year-old from Glendale, Arizona, capped the evening by performing "This Is My Now", the winning song in the American Idol songwriter competition co-written by veteran Christian artist/songwriter Scott Krippayne. Sparks has signed a contract with Sony/BMG.
