Acquitted win second heat of national Christian music talent search.

SCOTTISH hard rock band Acquitted were the winners of the second heat of the national Christian music talent search, The Ultimate Showcase. The event took place at City Christian Centre, Norwich on 15th January. The other participants were ambient duo Note For A Child, Norwich pop rock band World Without End and pop punk team Seeker. There were about 150 people in the audience. One of the judges, Mark Goodge of Cross Rhythms Direct, said, "All the bands were excellent. Note For A Child got the judges vote, World Without End were the most popular with the crowd but Acquitted won due to the big support they had via the internet."

Acquitted will now go through to the final, to be held in the Midlands at the end of March. The winner of The Ultimate Showcase will perform as the opening act at Alton Towers The Ultimate Event as well as receiving recording time in a top studio, album designs and a video of their single. The next heat for The Ultimate Showcase takes place in Buckley on 22nd January. CR
