Mat Kearney recording at Tennessee's Blackbird Studios

AFTER A lengthy delay between releases, Tennessee-based singer/songwriter Mat Kearney is currently working on a new album. He's been recording at Blackbird Studios. He said, "We recorded.30 songs and I think we have it down to 20 now, but I'm not sure how to narrow it down any more. It's so hard to pick which ones deserve to be heard. Bono said bands shouldn't break up over money they should break up over song listings. I agree, I can see the different sides of trying to figure out which ideas and songs seem to work together best. So far, there are a lot of songs about the relationships I have found myself in over the last few years. From strangers to unrequited love. It keeps me up at night because I want the right songs to survive together." CR
