Galactus Jack, Riverdeep, Victizzle pick up CBC awards

THE ANNUAL awards event administered by Britain's Christian Broadcasting Council took place in London on 25th February. With this year's music awards highlighting the growing groundswell of independent artists, there was particular interest from Britain's growing vanguard of grassroots Christian musicians. The winners were: Best Contemporary Album - Galactus Jack, 'Reality Bytes'; Best Worship Album - Riverdeep, 'Rise'; and Best Urban/Gospel Album - Victizzle, 'In My World'. Said Victizzle, "I am thrilled to get this award. I come from Hackney and it's generally thought that nothing good comes out of Hackney. It's very encouraging to be acknowledged by UK's broadcasters."
