Introduction
The Cross Rhythms Forum is open to all users of the website as a place where you can share your thoughts and opinions with us and with each other. We ask for your co-operation in making this a safe and enjoyable facility.
Messages posted to the forum are not pre-approved before being visible, and we do not, as a general rule, edit or remove messages unless absolutely necessary. However, we do have some basic rules which we expect every user to respect. Messages which break the rules may be edited or deleted in order to remove offending material, and any user who repeatedly posts offending material may have their right to use the forum withdrawn.
Basic Rules
If you break any of these rules, your messages are very likely to be edited or deleted. Repeated breaches will lead to a ban on using the forum.
- No personal insults or defamatory comments. Any material which, in the judgement of the forum moderators, is
insulting or potentially libellous will be removed.
- No offensive language. In other words, don't swear or blaspheme, and don't tell rude jokes.
- No incitement to illegal activities. This includes, but is not limited to, encouraging criminal infringement of copyright and promotion of illegal "pyramid schemes".
- No abuse of the system. This includes, but is not limited to, posting excessive quantities of messages, repeatedly posting the same message, posting duplicate messages in different forums and re-posting material that has previously been removed by the forum moderators.
- No deceptive postings. You must not pretend to be someone you are not, or make other false statements in any of your messages.
- No off-topic postings. Post messages to the appropriate forum only, and stick to the topic. Anything which is off-topic for a forum may be moved or deleted.
- No affiliate or referral links. We don't mind people advertising their own website, or posting links to other websites that they think are worth sharing, but links designed to earn money or rewards for the user are not permitted.
- No links to sites with content that would break these guidelines if posted here directly. In other words, don't link to sites which are offensive, incite illegal activity, etc.
- No copyright material from other sources. Don't copy and paste content from other websites, or copy material from other sources. If you want to reference something that someone else has written elsehere, then provide a link to it instead.
Posting Guidelines
While not having the force of rules, following these guidelines will help to make the forum a nicer place for everyone. If you break them, we won't normally remove your messages, but we may edit them if we feel it is appropriate.
- Use a title that describes the content of your post. Don't use ALL CAPITALS or special characters to draw attention to your messages.
- Respect the "netiquette". get to know the forum before you post anything.
- Write in a way which is consistent with normal, grammatical English. Don't use ALL CAPITALS, excessive numbers of "smilies", "txtspk" or other forms of abbreviation, excessive punctuation or non-standard formatting.
- Don't quote excessively. If replying to a previous message, only quote as much as is necessary to make sense of your reply.
- Exercise self-restraint. If you think your message is over the top, then it probably is.
- Be excellent to each other. Or, as the Bible puts it, love your neighbour as yourself.
