Girls aim to be more like their mothers or best friends while boys do not identify with teachers of either sex but instead wish to be like their heroes, such as David Beckham. The recent poll of 400 9-15 year olds confirmed that gils identify more with sympathetic characteristics whereas boys admire physical strenght and looks. Only 2% questioned said they viewed teachers as role models.

Nearly half of young people who expose themselves to loud music experience hearing problems according to research by the royal national Institute for Deaf People (RNID). Here are some more findings;
73% (almost three quarters) of people who have ever been to a club, gig, concert or festival had ringing in their ears after a night out or the morning after.
64% considered that loosing their hearing would have a huge impact on their lives.
46% interviewed knew that ringing in the ears was a sign of damage.
59% Didnt realise that damage would be permanent.
80%of those interviewed knew about the risk of their hearing through volume, but only half knew that the length of time of exposure also affects the likely damage to hearing.
Clubs aren't the only places where people are exposed to loud music.RNID research showed that even a "quiet" evening in a pub is no longer that quiet, with many pubs playing music so loud that drinkers have to shout in conversation.
