The latest findings by Continental Research which shows that nearly two-thirds of the UK population has access to the internet, with 54 per cent of the total adult UK population having access to the internet from home. Additionally 38 per cent have access from work or college with some overlap from those who have work and home access. The net number of people in the UK who access the internet from any of these locations is 29 million or 60 per cent of the adult population. The platform is enhanced further as broadband connections over the last two years, have lept from 750,000 homes in 2002 to a current figure of 3.6 million homes.
Listening to radio via the web, according to the research, is the ninth most popular activity when measured amongst those who had made purchases on line. 2.3 million or 9 per cent of all those that have made on line purchases listened to the radio via the web. This is supported by the latest Rajar which shows a 30 per cent increase in internet listening in the 12 months to December 2003.
Continental say, nearly one in three of the total UK adult population are now online consumers.

Online and speed dating are becoming increasingly popular among Christian singles, according to the lastest edition if 'Idea', the Evangelical Alliance's magazine... In 'Make me a Match', the magazine explores what some single Christians are doing to find their Mr or Mrs Right. The article highlights one church's response - to set up a Christian dating agency - and charts the growing popularity of online agencies and speed dating events among Christian singles... Christian Connection's website not has about 1,500 regular users and new registrations for their services are currently running at 25 a day. The site's founder, Jackie Elton, said the majority of those using the online dating service are '30-somethings', and so far they've clocked up 28 engagements and 55 confirmed weddings. "It can be hard for single Christians to meet each other - ways have to be found," said Jacki, who reveals that she faced some criticism from within the Church.

Swearing and blaspheming is reaching "staggering" levels in films broadcast on the television, according to the findings of an independent watchdog... Over the course of last year, research into movies broadcast on the terrestrial channels found that the f-word was used 2,234 times and there were 549 uses of 'Jesus' or 'Christ' as an expletive... 'Unforgiven' starring Clint Eastwood and 'Die Hard' with Bruce Willis, were among the worst offenders with 16 and 14 counts of blasphemy respectively.

The controversial Mel Gibson film 'The Passion of the Christ' has been paised by US southan Baptist leaders given an advance screening recently.
Acknowledging its effect on him, the Revd Morris Chapman, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Southern Baptist Executive Committee said 'I have been unable to erase from my mind the scene of the beating given to Jesus by Roman Guards. It was gruesome. It jarred my sensibilities. It was so real I was almost certin the audience around me had given a collective gasp, sinking into their seats, shrinking from the horror of such excruciating pain'.

Premier Christian Radio is the fastest growing radio station in the UK, reports ASSIST News.
Britian's only commercial Christian station have risen by an incredible 162% in the last quarter. Average listening time has almost doubled, while the number of listeners has lept by 51% to 223,000.
