VOTE FOR PURE FREEDOM!! (As heard on Community Matters)

Pure Creative Arts is a dynamic and multi-faceted company who work through music, theatre in education and workshops to challenge young people to discover their individual worth and potential. Where young people suffer from low self esteem and consequently struggle with issues such as eating disorders and self harm, Pure aim to work alongside them and show them how to deal with how they feel in a more constructive way and see how positive change can come about.

Pure Creative Arts have applied for funding through Glamour Magazine and Avon and been shortlisted for the £5,000 prize to set up a project called Pure Freedom that would operate from Pure Creative Arts. The vision for Pure Freedom is to be a group mentorship programme specifically for young people who are struggling with self-harm and eating disorders.

Pure Freedom has two strands to it, the first to be inputting into the young people through the arts - leading workshops in dance, theatre etc and training them to a standard where they will put on their own productions. By using the arts workshops Pure Freedom will be helping to release young people into their full potential, gain confidence and worth in what they are capable of doing. The second part of Pure Freedom will be aimed at working on how to develop positive coping mechanisms with the young people and will be more focussed on why they are harming themselves through whichever means. For this part of the project, Abbie will be on site to give medical assistance and input to the young people.

Cast your vote NOW! To vote visit www.avonhellotomorrowfund.com. You can also visit the Pure website for information on Pure as a whole www.purecreativearts.co.uk
