It has to be said that 'The Road' took me by surprise. The simple reason for this being that I thought AVB looked artificial and smug on the cover photographs and I expected their music to be the same. After the first listen, however, I was more willing to take AVB seriously for the quality of their music and lyrics. The Road' is definitely an album that satisfies. The excellent production, the group's musical ability and above all the integrity of the lyrics combine to make this a profound listening experience. "The Road" and "Ignorance Ain't Bliss" are excellent examples of this. If your tastes veer towards the R&B end of the acappella spectrum the Acappella Vocal Band are for you.
