The first thought of "just another smooth American trio" that the cover gives is quickly washed away by the first listen. Yes, A Cross Between are smooth, but they are also very good and deserve the 1997 Spotlight Award from the Gospel Music Association (Jars Of Clay won this award in years past). They weave lush vocal harmonies over an instrumental foundation that would not go amiss with Audio Adrenaline or dc Talk. The songs vary from straight ministry stuff, through though subjects like mass school shootings to cover versions of the Sly And The Family Stone "I Just Want To Celebrate". It's worth checking out the second, hidden, mix of the song. If you go for the vocal style of the Backstreet Boys and N'Sync but prefer a slightly more aggressive edge to your music, go get this album now.

Hi myself and everyone else. I was just wondering how I can obtain the very 1st album "A Cross Between" or what I like to prefer as the "Black Album" myself. That album really meant a lot to me back in high school and now that I'm in my early 40's, I would really love to have an another copy after having lost it due a move. Thank You and GOD BLESS. "A Cross Between" is a very outstanding mixture of vocal harmonies and today’s Christian rock music. Something today’s youth needs and should like. My favorite song is "Present". It's on the "Black album."
