Abigail Duhon is a Christian singer/songwriter born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. She discovered her passion for music after Hurricane Katrina destroyed her family home when she was only six years old. Her first song "Beautiful", which was on her first album, was written because of the disaster. This is her follow up album. The opening song, "Into The Light", starts off with a steady beat and carries that beat throughout the rest of the song. The catchy tune and chorus are emphasised by the repetition. "Rebound" is gentler and starts with an electric guitar sound but has another steady beat like the "Into the Light"; "Dance Up (ftg Spencer Kane)" is an electric sounding song that would quite easily sit alongside a Calvin Harris dancefloor song; while "I'm Not Ashamed", written for the Columbine shooting movie with lyrics taken directly from Rachel Joy Scott's personal journal, is much gentler than the others. It has a piano base throughout and comes back to lyrics to help young girls through the pressures of growing up including a prayer at its heart. Abigail is a great role model for female teenagers like me (I'm 13) and her music is certainly relevant to my generation.
