Quirky, intense set of original songs from captivating new USA singer/songwriter. To those familiar with the circle Abra's moving in, the backing band will be better known than the artist herself. Name-dropping must definitely include Mitch Watkins, Gene Elders, Paul Glasse and Howard Levy, some of the most tasteful musicians around. They are not able, however, to overpower this very strong vocalist, communicating her material with conviction and intensity. Shades of such as Victoria Williams and Michelle Shocked. Some tracks, such as "Some Kind Of Change" are gently acoustic and restful, most stride out with lean, sinewy rock. Top tracks to listen out for are "Sweet Chariot", "Prayer For An Angel" and "I Look Around". A very interesting new artist for you to investigate.
