If you're impatient waiting for the next Jars Of Clay album here's an album to satisfy your love of poignant vocals, gutsy guitar pasages and delicate acoustic interludes. In fact, According To John's lead singer John Waller sometimes sounds eerily like the Jars' Dan Haseltine. But maybe the similarity is due to the literacy of ATJ's songwriting or the same kind of deftly textured arrangements that make the Jars such outstanding purveyors of pop rock. As an added plus, this Atlanta, Georgia, band all have a real heart for Britain having made ministry trips to the UK. I love their haunting "Song Of Jabez" (based on The Prayer Of Jabez best seller). I love the clever perspective of romance and love of God shown on the harmony-stacked "She's In Love". Yep, a great album.
