Volume 1 got an abysmal one square in Cross Rhythms 60 so, understandably, I approached these two volumes with wariness. What you get is a bunch of American session musos and singers, assembled by experienced producer David Lyndon Huff, each volume offering 25 renditions of songs plucked from the American hymnal. These are a mixture, ranging from the hugely over-recorded ("Blessed Assurance", "Be Thou My Vision", "The Old Rugged Cross") with a smattering of hymns which will be unknown to British churchgoers.
