Nope, not folk roots, the rather inappropriate moniker belongs to California's Laura and Michael Misiuk who offer 12 tracks of raw, no-nonsense guitar rock. Michael was previously in the truly wonderful Violet Burning but somehow the magic doesn't spill over to his new project. Part of the problem is Laura's voice isn't particularly suited to all those overdrive electric guitars while Michael's attempts at vocals are well below average. Another glitch is that the riffs, though gutsily laid down suffer from deja vu. Ironically, in view of the name, the best cut is the purely acoustic "It's A Mystery" but before the husband and wife duo conclude with a dull revival of "Bad Moon Rising" interest had long waned.
