For those of you who like your music with a bite, and who think that most (if not all) of the praise and worship available these days is so much wet lettuce, then this might just be up your street. Acquire The Fire is a trade-mark of the arrestingly named Teen Mania Ministries, and if you remember the US Christian heavy rock days, the name of David Zaffiro will immediately register. David was a big noise (in every sense of the word!) a while back and here his production influence ensures an underlying grittiness not found in much modern day worship projects. My advance pre-release copy gives no information as to who's participating, and whether it's properly live or a studio recording with a rent-a-congregation; suffice it to say that production values are excellent, the songs convey spiritual truth, and with one or two surprises [a funky version of "I Surrender All", and a new tune to "Just As I Am Without One Plea"), this is worth investigating.
