Fragile Cat were just the kind of band Greenbelt take to their heart - they were hip, had Christian associations, but didn't show them in their lyrics. But now that Fragile Cat, after two years, have disbanded, their frontman Adam Wylder steps out to come up with a high quality and very unexpected debut album. Why unexpected? Well, for a start, though there are occasional hints of the catchy, quirky Squeeze-style pop like that was Fragile Cat's forte here (like "Misunderstood") there are also country and pop blues tinges. Secondly, "I Never Lost My Faith", "Hard Luck Saturday", "The Waiting" and "Live Through This" all speak of Adam's faith. A fine songwriter, a vulnerably appealing voice and a talent we'll hear more of.
